Requirements
- The main task was giving out a usability evaluation for the Bing Dictionary, focusing on the user group on campuses.
- Give out some improvement suggestions according to the results if possible.
Improved Bing Dictionary
Phase I: Evaluation
An apples-to-apples comparison among some famous dictionary applications in China was made to find out what features are most important for a dictionary for students.
Usability evaluations were conducted for the Bing Dictionary in depth. Methods included: Questionnaire, Heuristic Evaluation and Think Aloud.
Evaluation
Phase II: Improvement
We made improvement suggestions according to the research results. Wireframes were built basing on the suggestions and we conducted a think aloud testing with the prototype.
We got presses from the company and some of the suggestions have been implemented in the next version of Bing Dictionary.
